Things have been busy enough I (Margaret) have not been able to post!
We are already halfway through July! Where did the year go?
We celebrated Katie's 5th birthday in style at Disneyland. She had a wonderful time and got to meet her idol - Princess Tiana. Now Tiana is very hard to find, so it took us 5 days to finally catch up with her! We did the Princess Lunch for Katie's actual birthday, and Katie was greeted by Ariel, Snow White, Belle, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), and Cinderella. Tiana is not at the princess meals as her dress is too big to fit between the tables!
We also saw many parades (whick Katie got to dance in), the new World of Color show, and many other spectacular Disney treats. We were also able to spend an afternoon visiting Kevin's cousin Maria, her husband Phil, and their new baby Hannah. Very nice.
With summer arriving, things have been crazy. Katie is taking swimming lessons, and also ice skating lessons! She loves to ice skate, and is a natural! We're also fitting in as many fun things we can do before school starts on August 30. Katie also loves going to Color Me Mine, which is a place where you can paint your own ceramics. We go there enough we're on first name basis with the owner!
Kevin's job is still very demanding, but we are grateful that he has a job! Tough times out there.
It is a good year for apricots too. From the tree planted in memory of my dad, we gleaned 40+ jars of preserves, and cobblers, etc., ..... YUM!
We had a bit of a scare last month as Farley was attacked by some dogs and needed surgery, stitches, and an elizabethan collar. Wonderfully, he has recovered well and has not lost any of his sweet demeanor. He is sporting a very bad haircut, as trying to give him a good one to match the shaved spots was pretty impossible since he was a bit testy. Can't say I blame him.
