Boy, does time fly by!
Christmas was great, and we had fun with Kevin's parents staying overnight Christmas and New Years Eves to celebrate the holidays with us. They were pet sitting Lincoln, a Chesapeak Bay Retriever pup (who at that point was 3 months old and ~20 pounds - twice the size of Buster!). They were glad to use our yard to let the dogs run each other tired!
Katie must have been good last year as Santa pampered her quite a bit. We must have been good as Kevin got a new laptop and I got an iPad (my new appendage!). We also got another dog over the holidays - Kevin found a beautiful black female Pomeranian / Chihuahua mix in the park. We gave her over to the county animal services, and a week later we were able to adopt her. As Katie is still big into Disney Princesses, we named her Princess. Katie at first called her Rapunzel (her current favorite princess), but now calls her Princess. Princess and Buster are very good buddies!
Buster and Princess!
Katie is doing well in school, and just had her triennial IEP (meaning every three years they do a full assessment and report for her Individual Education Plan and see how she has progressed and if special services are still needed). She is still in the Special Day Program, but doing well. She is at grade level in math and reading, and is just behind on expressive and receptive issues. It is nice to see that our opinion of her progress and issues is aligned with her teacher. Kevin and Katie have been working on her science project for the upcoming science fair - observing and reporting on her ant farm!
Kevin is once again the Commodore for the San Francisco Fleet 1 Pelican group. They sail 12' Pelican sailboats once per month and have 2 regattas each year. His dad is once again is Race Chairman, for the gazillionth time. Their first race this year is February 25 in Alameda.
