Easter - Mackey Style

As we faced another holiday without Barbara, we decided to change things up again.   Instead of the usual dinner, we decided to have some fun.  

We had the normal egg hunt for the girls, and since it was raining, we did it in the living room.   Katie and Fiona had a blast.     Then, for dinner, we went to the El Cerrito theater.  This theater has couches, comfy chairs, and tables, and serves food!!  We all had fun watching Oz the Great and Powerful.

A grand time was had by all.

One other note from Easter:   My dad's brother George passed away.  It is amazing that he was born on Christmas Day in 1916, and passed away on Easter Sunday in 2013.    The sad part is that he was the last of the generation and that chapter is closed.

SF Pelican 2012 Fleet Champion!

Here is Kevin receiving the SF Pelican Fleet Championship trophy from his dad, Howard (who is Race Chairman).

This is a perpetual trophy that is given to the year's winner.  It has been a couple of years since it has graced our home, and we're glad to have it back!

It's Sunday morning, and were all waking up.  Katie and I (Margaret) have been sick all week, and now Kevin is sick as well.   Katie is sad because we are missing Fiona's 10th birthday party - roller skating in Golden Gate Park.

Yesterday was the SF Pelican Fleet 1 annual meeting.  Kevin was elected Commodore again, and also was last year's fleet champion.    The group has many perpetual trophies that they hand around - champion, most improved, etc.   Last year Kevin had the "They went that away..." trophy (a paddle) for going the wrong way once.   I will post a pic of Kevin with the champion trophy soon.

We just booked our annual trip to Disneyland for June.   Katie is thrilled.   We are hoping to catch up with our friends the Gustavsons like we did last year.  Katie and McKenna had a blast together!
